In the 13th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 16 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Merexildo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Juanita's Epifanio Orlan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Petrică Ştefoi, 2-2. The supporters of Club Atletico Juanita booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The audience held their breath when Eriberto Theodore in the 68th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Julio Vera's left hand side. Edgardo Matteo kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 5-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through Club Atletico Juanita's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petrică Ştefoi. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petrică Ştefoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Petrică Ştefoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 98th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Petrică Ştefoi. Club Atletico Juanita's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
