In the 8th minute, Jorge Sainz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Santotis. After 16 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jorge Sainz hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Armando Santotis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Sporting Chilcano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Santotis to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Bruno Beldad got a free kick in the 34th minute. Armando Santotis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Uruguay's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Asier Abello 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 46th minute.

55 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Santotis came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Chilcano's Armando Santotis got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Chilcano made a substitution. Jacinto Galguera replaced Paul Trielles. When Heli Monsalve came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Sporting Chilcano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heli Monsalve couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Sporting Chilcano booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Modestio Cañucal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Santotis in the 68th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Heli Monsalve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Chilcano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heli Monsalve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lizardi Montanez having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heli Monsalve in the 75th minute of the match. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Jaime Cazalla hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the game, Gilesindo Pastrana threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lizardi Montanez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lizardi Montanez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lizardi Montanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Armando Santotis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 95th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lizardi Montanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Chilcano fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uruguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
