Taavetti Mattila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Pedro Indiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jerry Knowles might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jerry Knowles ran back to his position shaking his head. Mariano Lacasa scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Taavetti Mattila, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Taavetti Mattila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Taavetti Mattila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Taavetti Mattila read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Taavetti Mattila. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Taavetti Mattila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 32nd minute of play. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Traian Iorda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Chile's Pedro Indiano got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eldur Heido in the 46th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Traian Iorda to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. With a little luck, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Taavetti Mattila got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Iorda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taavetti Mattila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute, Ali Nieminen made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Jiang Zhen Sen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jiang Zhen Sen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Taavetti Mattila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The throw-in from Jerry Knowles in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Chile's Pedro Indiano. Pedro Indiano was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. Thiago Pliego went to the wrong direction when Traian Iorda was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
