Harry Higuita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Aro FC's goalkeeper Harry Higuita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Harry Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nate Drakenborg to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Benat during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emanuel Benat hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Aro FC could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
