In the 87th minute, Jarūnas Saponka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After 90 minutes Zielonka Gdansk's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Facundo Cadaval was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Tomaszewski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ben Hart charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ben Hart the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, Ben Hart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Jan Tomaszewski threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
