In the 22nd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Deilmison Bergkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubens Tasso hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Rubens Tasso charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Rubens Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deilmison Yashin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Deilmison Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deilmison Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 42nd minute of the match. If Deilmison Bergkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rubens Tasso got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rubens Tasso hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Deilmison Yashin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Botelho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Acácio da Silva notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Acácio da Silva in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind.
