The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevão Reis in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Estevão Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Estevão Reis took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Estevão Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Estevão Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Şenol Akbaba quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Xavier Figueroa, made in the 20th minute of the game. In the 21st minute of the match Şenol Akbaba sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pliego skillfully saved the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Estevão Reis in the 25th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Guillermo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Fontirroig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egun Zapico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Estevão Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boğaç Çelikoz in the 34th minute of the match. Boğaç Çelikoz's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Thiago Pliego on his right side and into the goal. 34 minutes into the game it was 0-2. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Estevão Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. Estevão Reis struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ. After the first half ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Estevão Reis got free with Thiago Pliego in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 60 in the game by Estevão Reis from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egun Zapico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Chile booed when ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bora Oyum didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ got a freekick which was hit by Bora Oyum. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Felix Garrido hit a great ball. Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thiago Pliego could save by the left post. In the 84th minute, ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. In the 87th minute, Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thiago Pliego. The goal made the score 0-7. Egun Zapico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
