Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a good shot on target. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Sven-Edvin Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Angel Alvarenga was slow to take the kick. During this time GuateFortín's players had a chance to rest. Angel Alvarenga made a great header on GuateFortín's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. If Sven-Edvin Jansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. GuateFortín made a substitution. Severo Rameriz replaced Stanyo Búnkov. Pedro Manzanares didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 18th minute of the match. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nery Pumpido saved GuateFortín from getting behind. GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Orlando Tafalla, made in the 21st minute of the game. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thierry Henry's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thierry Henry helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Thierry Henry hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a free kick in the 27th minute. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 32nd minute of play. In the 37th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nery Pumpido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Santino Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 45 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Colombia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 55th minute of play. When Sven-Edvin Jansson came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the GuateFortín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Edvin Jansson couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Sven-Edvin Jansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. GuateFortín's Mario Gomez was substituted for Thierry Henry. In the 66th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. 71 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Zico Zellier came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido got control of the ball when Pascual Carballar tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ignacio Mastache kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nery Pumpido. That made the score 4-3 in the 73 minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson made it 5-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Correa to maneuver through the defense. Nery Pumpido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ignacio Mastache's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Sven-Edvin Jansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-3. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Mastache in the 94th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th play minute Ignacio Mastache came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nery Pumpido. 6-4.
