In the 21st minute of the match, Frodo Moya got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquin Gayoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Tucci in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Mazinger FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Zdzislaw Golob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Tucci in the 39th minute of play. Alberto Gisbert's late challenge caught a Mazinger FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Peter Pilot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 84th minute of play forced Mazinger FC's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Golob to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Arturo Carvallo hit a great ball. Zdzislaw Golob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Frodo Moya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mazinger FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Frodo Moya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Uruguay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
