In the 2nd minute, Mazinger FC's Diego Tucci dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Nagoi Mendez hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 9th minute. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 11th minute. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Frodo Moya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Ruud Dijken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Nagoi Mendez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mazinger FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. In the 27th minute, one of Mazinger FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mazinger FC. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Uruguay. Jaime Cazalla stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zdzislaw Golob. 2-1. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Tucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mazinger FC's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Golob, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Frodo Moya tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zdzislaw Golob stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Tucci in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. When Henry Johnsson fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mazinger FC's protests and gave Henry Johnsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Mazinger FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Johnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Cazalla placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Francisco Seco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zdzislaw Golob came out and tried to block the shot, but Francisco Seco slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 55th minute. Frodo Moya struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mazinger FC. 68 minutes into the match, Lisa Katt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lisa Katt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 71st minute Frodo Moya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Zdzislaw Golob managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Uruguay's Francisco Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mazinger FC the free kick. Francisco Seco hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Mazinger FC's Emil Boltașu was substituted for Henry Johnsson. After 83 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Seco. Francisco Seco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zdzislaw Golob firmly grabbed it by the left post. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mazinger FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. Zdzislaw Golob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Sainz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frodo Moya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mazinger FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
