Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Zdzislaw Golob tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Illescas during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. 17 minutes in the game, Diego Tucci fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Mazinger FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Peter Pilot hit a great ball. After 27 minutes, Henry Johnsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mazinger FC and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Mazinger FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Johnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zdzislaw Golob breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zdzislaw Golob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zdzislaw Golob quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tomas Illescas's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Zdzislaw Golob on his right side and into the goal. 46 minutes into the game it was 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Tucci made a kick off. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Frodo Moya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mazinger FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Zdzislaw Golob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 65th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zdzislaw Golob was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frodo Moya in the 76th minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zdzislaw Golob read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Zdzislaw Golob made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute, Peter Pilot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zdzislaw Golob was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Venezuela were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Mazinger FC's much stronger midfield.
