When Rigoberto Mina fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Rigoberto Mina a yellow card for diving instead. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Fred Petersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Electric Sharks booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant had in the 36thth minute some difficulties stopping Fred Petersson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Fred Petersson took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 41 minutes into the match, Carl Mellberg notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sven-Erik Berglund charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven-Erik Berglund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sven-Erik Berglund kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Bertil Melander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.
