Weather Piedrahita came out and tried to block the shot, but Kevin Mastache slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 10th minute. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Herbella in the 26th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Carballar got free with Weather Piedrahita in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Florencio Herbella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Herbella, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Florencio Herbella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Herbella in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 minutes of play, Atletico Maturrango's Leonides Ybarbo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Atletico Maturrango fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Atletico Maturrango's Leonides Ybarbo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Atletico Maturrango were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the game Luis Cazalla made a throw-in which Pascual Carballar played forward. After a rather tough play, Atletico Maturrango's Cordara Baracaldo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Florencio Herbella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 64th minute, one of Colombia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Colombia. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. After 71 played minutes Atletico Maturrango got a freekick which was hit by Sindo Enterria. After 72 minutes, Ignacio Mastache made it 3-5 with a short kick to the right side. Atletico Maturrango's Weather Piedrahita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The throw-in from Luis Cazalla in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Atletico Maturrango's Cordara Baracaldo. 79 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Carballar came free, but Weather Piedrahita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Kevin Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Weather Piedrahita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atletico Maturrango:s Weather Piedrahita showed great skill when he stopped Kevin Mastache:s penalty. 4-6 came in the 85th minute when Kevin Mastache all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Weather Piedrahita. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Ybarbo in the 88th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Weather Piedrahita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kevin Mastache went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-6 was the resulting score. Santino Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santino Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Santino Seco got a free kick in the 94th minute. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonides Ybarbo in the 96th minute. The Colombia fans' excitement grew in the 98th match minute when Colombia's Abram Secada looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
