Spectators: 470 (Terracing: 353, Seating: 108, VIP seats: 9) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Claudiu Doinaș kicked off to start the match. Klaus Hirsch kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Bernhard Krier hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Saint Etienne's Bernhard Krier got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Esa Hagelberg came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the FC Vlahuță fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esa Hagelberg couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernhard Krier in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Rusu saved FC Vlahuță from getting behind. Claudiu Doinaș struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Gregory Hildmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Vlahuță. In the 19thth minute of the game Bernhard Krier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Vlahuță's Mihai Rusu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mihai Rusu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernhard Krier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Günther Lentz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saint Etienne's Gregory Hildmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Saint Etienne from getting a goal against them. Gregory Hildmann came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Vlahuță's Esa Hagelberg. But to his dismay, Esa Hagelberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Gregory Hildmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Doinaș in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute, FC Vlahuță's Esa Hagelberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gregory Hildmann. Gregory Hildmann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Saint Etienne's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Claudiu Doinaș scored to the left of an out of position Gregory Hildmann, making the score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernhard Krier to make the kick off. Bernhard Krier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Mihai Rusu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Saint Etienne's Harry Thielemann got a free kick in the 56th minute. Gregory Hildmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Bute in the 60th minute of play. If Marcelo Trobbiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudiu Doinaș hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the game, Ralf Behm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Etienne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Vlahuță the free kick. The supporters of FC Vlahuță booed when Saint Etienne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Behm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gregory Hildmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Bute in the 72nd minute of play. Mihai Rusu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Günther Lentz in the 75th minute of play. Petru Bute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregory Hildmann having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Ralf Behm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregory Hildmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Doinaș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Claudiu Doinaș ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gregory Hildmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Bernhard Krier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudiu Doinaș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gregory Hildmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Saint Etienne's goal looked a bit too open when Petru Bute came free, but Gregory Hildmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Petru Bute ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gregory Hildmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0.

The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Vlahuță had won after a very even match.
