Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Karl-Michael Brask tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe Ros during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 7 minutes into the game, one of Panama:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 9 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Michael Brask came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Xerxes Doro made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 32nd minute, Adrian Isăilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Peter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xerxes Doro in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Berganza was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Rareș Hănescu got a free kick in the 56th minute. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Karl-Michael Brask got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 76 minutes, Adrian Isăilă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Batalionul U23 Dorobanti and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Brask in the 81st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
