In the 18th minute, Eliseo Mina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The supporters of Peru booed when Playa Malvín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stamen Tekeliev's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes Playa Malvín's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Peru's Milagros Fraga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stamen Tekeliev went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 43 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Marquez threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Peru's Efraim Gilabert got a free kick in the 46th minute. Stamen Tekeliev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 57th minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Stamen Tekeliev dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa, 2-2. Playa Malvín made a substitution. Josu Onez replaced Sandu Mândrilă. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Roberto Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Constantijn De Hond hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 78th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Milagros Fraga however managed to control. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. The audience was convinced that Quinto Ampudia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa was a little too slow when Quinto Ampudia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 2-3. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Playa Malvín were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Peru's much stronger midfield.
