In the 29th match minute, ꉓꍏꋪꉣꂦꀸꋪꂦꂵꂦ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diguinho Pitta to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Angelo Bertoni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa Rica reached it. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Olejarz in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of ꉓꍏꋪꉣꂦꀸꋪꂦꂵꂦ booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position.
