Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. A long shot from Robbie Prima in the 5th minute of play was well struck, but Jonathan Ferrant made a really good save at the right post. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Arne Askstedt hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 9th minute of play forced Smurfarna's goalkeeper Tord Fors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. If Robin Eliasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Tord Gustafsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Karl Albohm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Eliasson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Askstedt came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Robin Eliasson scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Askstedt came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Jens Björling sent off a good shot on target. Staffan Glanselius kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tord Fors having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Gustafsson in the 41st minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Robin Eliasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Robin Eliasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tord Gustafsson made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Arne Askstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Askstedt in the 54th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Tord Gustafsson sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Smurfarna's Ivan Jernberg was substituted for Jens Björling. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tord Gustafsson in the 70th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Arne Askstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Tord Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Tord Fors skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Tord Fors didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela.
