The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute of the game Haakon Haarbøl made a throw-in which Bertil Kapala played forward. 13 minutes into the game, Bertil Kapala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kerteminde Boldklub's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. In the last second Roman Mehrtens throw himself and got hold of the ball when Edmundo Espiga in the 14thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Roman Mehrtens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The supporters of Kerteminde Boldklub booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th match minute, Kerteminde Boldklub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haakon Haarbøl to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kerteminde Boldklub's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Villa in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roman Mehrtens saved Kerteminde Boldklub from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Tue Parslet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Roman Mehrtens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roman Mehrtens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute Tue Parslet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 70th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Roman Mehrtens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Roman Mehrtens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Ture Vejlbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Honduras's Sebastian Villa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roman Mehrtens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th match minute, Kerteminde Boldklub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerhard Guldager to maneuver through the defense. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honduras walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
