Caballeritos del Baile's Angelo Urtsua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Luisito Gaizkine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caballeritos del Baile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Caballeritos del Baile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Gaizkine didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Deunoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Caballeritos del Baile's Agustin Ilixo got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 69th minute Jairo Deunoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angelo Urtsua. Caballeritos del Baile's Angelo Urtsua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Caballeritos del Baile from getting a goal against them. Jairo Deunoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute of the match Caballeritos del Baile got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emil Rasialdo ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caballeritos del Baile.
