A nice corner shot did that Diego Bradley got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jan Abrahamsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, PP Plessydask's Jerzy Penkalski got a free kick in the 27th minute. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cassius Byrne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walery Absolwent, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
