Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Blomstermåla BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jörn Erserman to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Jörn Erserman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Karl-Åke Lidström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Åke Lidström narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
