With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roman Mehrtens saved Kerteminde Boldklub from getting behind. Tue Parslet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roman Mehrtens was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Gerhard Guldager charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerhard Guldager the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, one of Kerteminde Boldklub:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kerteminde Boldklub. In the 39th minute there was a penalty for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Roman Mehrtens. 0-1. In the 44th minute, Esteban Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eberhardt Osted was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tue Parslet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ture Vejlbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Roman Mehrtens threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Moises Tafalla got a free kick in the 55th minute. Milagros Cabal struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Roman Mehrtens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. With a little luck, Kerteminde Boldklub's Roman Mehrtens got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line.
