After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Mo Qi Zheng managed to get in a good position for a shot. BK Skjold's supporters rose to their feet, but Mo Qi Zheng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Eduino in the 17th minute of play. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Johnni Kirkskov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Nicko Vadmann made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Anthony Alvarado. 26 minutes into the match, BK Skjold's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Johnni Kirkskov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dumitru Tutorskiy lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 28th minute, one of BK Skjold:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BK Skjold. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Johnni Kirkskov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute of play. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Johnni Kirkskov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Eduino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnni Kirkskov saved BK Skjold from getting behind. 82 minutes in the game, Julian Murillo dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. The crowd rose to their feet as Genaro Procopio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-2 in the 86 minute of play. In the 89th minute, Rafael Gallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnni Kirkskov was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.
