Jairo Asteguieta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koby Wright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, one of BV Borussia Hammarby:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BV Borussia Hammarby. After having played for 36 minutes, Jan Dixon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Dixon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute of the game Rune Fristedt made a throw-in which Orvar Kihlman played forward. Jan Dixons short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Jairo Asteguieta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Canada getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Eric Hill hit a great ball.

Rune Fristedt made in the 55th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Birger Mårtensson however managed to control. Jan Dixon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Asteguieta having to interfere. BV Borussia Hammarby's Honorio Florin was substituted for Birger Mårtensson. Honorio Florin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Jax Williamson when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
