Weather Piedrahita had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Joel Gaona's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Weather Piedrahita came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 16th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Weather Piedrahita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Atletico Maturrango's Weather Piedrahita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Maturrango from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Weather Piedrahita in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Mancebo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Weather Piedrahita came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Ybarbo in the 26th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Weather Piedrahita successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 29 played minutes Atletico Maturrango got a freekick which was hit by Hitzeder Serans. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Weather Piedrahita made a huge save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Leonides Ybarbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonides Ybarbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristobal Tabby hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Mexico's Joel Gaona in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico Maturrango's goalie prevented a goal. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 66th minute of play. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 71st minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Weather Piedrahita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 74th minute of play. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Marcial Zuazna sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa.
