In the 34th minute, Francisco Seco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andor Mester. The goal made the score 2-1. Szombathelyi Haladás's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Alberto Gisbert scored to the left of an out of position Andor Mester, making the score, 3-1. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Szombathelyi Haladás's goalkeeper Andor Mester, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Mózes Bartha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mózes Bartha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.

In the 51st minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andor Mester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gusztáv Détári during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Szombathelyi Haladás getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gusztáv Détári hit a great ball. Andor Mester came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. A collision led to Szombathelyi Haladás getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. István Szőlősi hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Francisco Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mózes Bartha's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Szombathelyi Haladás's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mózes Bartha in the 73rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Nándor Jászberényi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mózes Bartha in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, István Szőlősi notched a goal, 5-3, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jaime Cazalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andor Mester having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Gusztáv Détári hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Escribano in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andor Mester saved Szombathelyi Haladás from getting behind. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andor Mester having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Uruguay had played much better football throughout.
