FC SuurTükk's Paavo Hiiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 24th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Paavo Hiiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. He walked away shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 57th minute, Evert Toom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paavo Hiiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. Norman Kukkur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Paavo Hiiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paavo Hiiu, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Lumi in the 84th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Armin Lumi was slow to take the kick. During this time FC SuurTükk's players had a chance to rest. 87 minutes into the game, FC SuurTükk's Tambet Vilberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paavo Hiiu having to interfere. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC SuurTükk had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
