A beautiful save bye Lyons's goalie prevented a goal. Boleslaw Zielinski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. If Boleslaw Zielinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boleslaw Zielinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Boleslaw Zielinski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luis Cazalla hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Luisito Quinten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Luis Cazalla hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Mastache. Boleslaw Zielinski might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boleslaw Zielinski ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 41st minute of play forced Lyons's goalkeeper Luisito Quinten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcos Berasko was slow to take the kick. During this time Lyons's players had a chance to rest. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Severo Basualdo. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski. But to his dismay, Boleslaw Zielinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boleslaw Zielinski in the 56th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Abram Sarmiento dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luisito Quinten, 2-1. Lyons's Stig Åkerberg was substituted for Aurelio Vasco. When Dariusz Roano came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Lyons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dariusz Roano couldn't finish the play. Lyons's Luisito Quinten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 69th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Colombia's Axel Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luisito Quinten. Luisito Quinten yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dariusz Roano went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Luisito Quinten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Secada in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute Dariusz Roano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Colombia fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Colombia's Abram Secada looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Colombia players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Lyons from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
