But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcus Sjöö having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Olof Högberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Zlatanera's Marcus Sjöö played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Zlatanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Bergvall didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Zlatanera's Lucas Bergvall got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute of play forced Zlatanera's goalkeeper Marcus Sjöö to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Per-Olof Högberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcus Sjöö, 0-1. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Lucas Bergvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Tomas Illescas took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Marcus Sjöö to make any attempt to save it. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Przemyslaw Bronder in the 81st minute of play. Marcus Sjöö showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Sjöö was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The Zlatanera supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for Venezuela.
