Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Antonio Arias fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nelsinho Leite quite easily take care of the ball. Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Monteiro in the 11th minute of play. Gilmar Monteiro hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When Felix Montenegro got free in front of the goal in the 15th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Nelsinho Leite was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Pedrinho Vasco fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vascogoianiense FC's protests and gave Pedrinho Vasco a yellow card for diving instead. Pedrinho Vasco kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Nelsinho Leite came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. A collision led to Vascogoianiense FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Aírton Sousa hit a great ball. Nelsinho Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Pirani to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Nelsinho Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Nelsinho Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Pirani in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vascogoianiense FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aírton Sousa in the 71st minute. Aírton Sousa made a great header on Vascogoianiense FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Pirani in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Válbson Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nelsinho Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pirani in the 88th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Nelsinho Leite managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
