The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gædd FK's Christian Bruheim. A sloppy throw-in by Alexander Carballo in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gædd FK's Jarle Iqbal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Axel Granum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored Gædd FK's protests and gave Christian Bruheim a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Gædd FK got a freekick which was hit by Christian Bruheim. Kenneth Stordahl struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gædd FK. Gædd FK's Morten Hurlen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 78 minute of the game. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gædd FK's goalkeeper Axel Granum, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gædd FK's Morten Hurlen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 89th minute, Daniel Erlandsen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gædd FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Costa Rica.
