Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 12 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 minutes of play, Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. Nelsinho Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Nelsinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Gilmar Monteiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julio Vera, passed just outside the right post. In the 41st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 minutes Vascogoianiense FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite did a great save. In the 43rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were furious when Antonio Arias was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Julio Vera. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when João Pirani made the kick off in the second half. Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nelsinho Leite quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nelsinho Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Luis Andino took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Nelsinho Leite to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vascogoianiense FC.
