Esa Hagelberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Tomas Berganza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihai Rusu was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Tomas Berganza kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Cambeiro during the 35th minute. Mihai Rusu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mihai Rusu, 3-1. Mihai Rusu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

FC Vlahuță's Costin Babarada was substituted for Petru Bute. Panama's Abraham Alguacil quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gigi Miheș, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihai Rusu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mihai Rusu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, FC Vlahuță's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Mihai Rusu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marcelo Trobbiani came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the FC Vlahuță fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Trobbiani couldn't finish the play. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 68 minutes, Tomas Berganza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the FC Vlahuță players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. With 75 minutes on the clock, Felipe Ros commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 75th minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Vlahuță's Costin Babarada took a good shot, in the 76th minute, which hit the crossbar above Marcos Cotilla's head, and flew over the goal. Panama's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by FC Vlahuță. In the 81stth minute of the game Claudiu Doinaș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mihai Rusu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Isidoro Sarmiento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihai Rusu having to make a save. 88 minutes into the match, Costin Babarada dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla, 3-2. In the 91st minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Costin Babarada managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Vlahuță's supporters rose to their feet, but Costin Babarada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Cotilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Miguel Miralles managed to get in a good position for a shot.
