Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigel Tilea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 4 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Academia Rio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea did a great save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 8th minute of play. Olimpiu Dichiseanu took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Sergiu Coșeriu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gigel Tilea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Virgil Şimonca kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Şimonca in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 55 minutes, Mihai Oniga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Rio and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Mihai Oniga got a free kick in the 56th minute. Gigel Tilea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Alex Nicolae got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Luz Palacio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gigel Tilea. The goal made the score 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgil Şimonca in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Luz Palacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. In the 68th minute Olimpiu Dichiseanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Nicolae didn't get a good kick on the ball. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. When Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador played a much better game than Academia Rio and deserved their victory. The Academia Rio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
