In the 17th minute, Maximiliano Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gervasio Oier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 19th minute. After some careless play in the Jarana FC defense, Francisco Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gervasio Oier. The Jarana FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gervasio Oier should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Jarana FC's Gervasio Oier. Gervasio Oier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paolo Balasi in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jarana FC's Gervasio Oier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Jarana FC from getting a goal against them. Arturo Carvallo made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jaime Cazalla however managed to control. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paolo Balasi in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Paolo Balasi made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Oier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Jarana FC got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Fernendo. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Gervasio Oier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gervasio Oier was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. 64 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Jarana FC's Gervasio Oier. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Uruguay had played much better football throughout.
