Joshua Secada hit a great ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Shao Wei Wei tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 6th minute of the match, Shao Wei Wei got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Godofredo Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shao Wei Wei. If Shao Wei Wei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Ekeberg in the 20th minute of play. Leszek Henryks short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 33 minutes into the game, Aykut Sakman threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Godofredo Maule showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 40th minute, Leszek Henryk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Martin de Tucumán fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 45 minutes into the game, Shao Wei Wei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leszek Henryk to make the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Martin de Tucumán reached it. If Leszek Henryk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leszek Henryk, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 87 played minutes San Martin de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Aykut Sakman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shao Wei Wei in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Martin de Tucumán walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
