With his leg Godofredo Maule managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shao Wei Wei in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godofredo Maule narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Felix Montes fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leszek Henryk. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pawel Sakowicz during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when San Martin de Tucumán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pawel Sakowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
