The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. In the 86th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Maule saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. San Martin de Tucumán's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicasio Jaizki kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Pawel Sakowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than San Martin de Tucumán.
