Nebojša Lovrić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Daniel Zorita scored 0-2 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nebojša Lovrić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nebojša Lovrić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nebojša Lovrić having to make a save. Nebojša Lovrić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nebojša Lovrić having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Nebojša Lovrić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Daniel Zorita sped through Wolverhampton Wanderers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nebojša Lovrić. Ivko Vitorović kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 苏升超 to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 孙战翔 in the 81st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wolverhampton Wanderers's 苏升超 got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, 苏升超 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Aranđel Peković notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
