Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Picantes del Norte's Zrinko Pavković started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Zrinko Pavković took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play forced Picantes del Norte's goalkeeper Silvestre Loramendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvestre Loramendi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Dráusio Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvestre Loramendi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Saelices in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvestre Loramendi saved Picantes del Norte from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dráusio Veloso. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Silvestre Loramendi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvestre Loramendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Picantes del Norte's Silvestre Loramendi managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zrinko Pavković got free with Julio Vera in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Zrinko Pavković took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Veloso in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Picantes del Norte's Silvestre Loramendi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Picantes del Norte from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zrinko Pavković came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute of the match Jairo Pueblo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Silvestre Loramendi made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Silvestre Loramendi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Picantes del Norte's goalkeeper Silvestre Loramendi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Picantes del Norte's Silvestre Loramendi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Picantes del Norte from getting a goal against them. Silvestre Loramendi was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zrinko Pavković, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Picantes del Norte's Lázaro Chinto was substituted for Zrinko Pavković. After 91 played minutes Picantes del Norte got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Gizon. Silvestre Loramendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute of the match. The Picantes del Norte players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
