The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montenegro during the 2nd minute. Jesus Milian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 6th minute Jesus Milian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raul Llorian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Raul Llorian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced PATADAS S.A's goalkeeper Raul Llorian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raul Llorian. PATADAS S.A's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Jesus Milian scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sergio Montrel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jesus Milian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jesus Milian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesus Milian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Milian in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Saul Filipo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Milian, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesus Milian in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saul Filipo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Montrel in the 71st minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Montrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Montrel in the 95th minute of play. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but PATADAS S.A were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
