A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alex Cambeiro hit a great ball. Dylan Sarmiento charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The long shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 62nd minute really tested Fausto Weterio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Soin came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81stth minute of the game Ernesto Soin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Weterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 96th minute of the match.
