When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Mänsur Rzayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Oscar Mas scored 1-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mänsur Rzayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Mas in the 63rd minute of play. In the 70th minute, Oscar Mas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 74th minute, Teymur Dünyamaliyev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Mas in the 76th minute of play. A throw-in in the 79th minute of the game was made by Camilo Gisbert with Luis Andino as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Oscar Mas took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 84th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mänsur Rzayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Şamaxı Bankirlər had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
