An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 5th minute of play forced Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Fausto Weterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Gonzalez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes Estudiantes de la Plata got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Lawrence. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Calisto in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Soin. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto Weterio. Fausto Weterio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Weterio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Weterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 47th minute of play.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 51st minute of play forced Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Fausto Weterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Estudiantes de la Plata's Ernesto Soin in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Beldad to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute Alberto Gisbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Weterio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Fausto Weterio in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 80 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Fausto Weterio managed to make a qualified save. Estudiantes de la Plata's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Calisto in the 82nd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Calisto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uruguay played a much better game than Estudiantes de la Plata and deserved their victory. The Estudiantes de la Plata players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
