Ernesto Poncio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Axel Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Venancio Cesario skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Axel Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Venancio Cesario when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Axel Montenegro sped through Yofré AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Venancio Cesario. The Colombia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colombia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
