Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A very good chance. Gerardo Cedro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Vinicio Itzaina in the 67th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. Gerardo Cedro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Victorino Emenon kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 94th minute of play forced Manchester Quijano's goalkeeper Gerardo Cedro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Beldad. Uruguay's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
