El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheeky Nuts United the free kick. The Cheeky Nuts United fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Cheeky Nuts United's Jon-Erik Vedøy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alf Austad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zorita was a little too slow when Fabian Lundberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-7. Ricardo Zorita was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Jon-Erik Vedøy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jon-Erik Vedøy really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Cheeky Nuts United's Henrik Rakvåg was substituted for Lukas Grønnestad. Jon-Erik Vedøy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Ricardo Zorita skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Jon-Erik Vedøy tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, Cheeky Nuts United's Jon-Erik Vedøy made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon-Erik Vedøy in the 74th minute of play. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Lundberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Jesus Carvallo got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Cheeky Nuts United booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Jon-Erik Vedøy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheeky Nuts United's supporters rose to their feet, but Jon-Erik Vedøy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabian Lundberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Jon-Erik Vedøy took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. 93 minutes into the game, Cheeky Nuts United's Alf Austad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-11. When Birger Øvstebø came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Cheeky Nuts United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Birger Øvstebø couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Cheeky Nuts United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than El Salvador throughout the match.
