It was 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Ämmer Sportfreaks's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Hardy Oester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ämmer Sportfreaks getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Luc Hagenbuch hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hardy Oester having to make a save. Gernot Grondin scored 1-3 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hardy Oester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hardy Oester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hercules Wenzel kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Hardy Oester made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hardy Oester. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hardy Oester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Hardy Oester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hardy Oester having to interfere. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Ämmer Sportfreaks's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After 70 played minutes Ämmer Sportfreaks got a freekick which was hit by Hercules Wenzel. After having played for 71 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ämmer Sportfreaks's Hercules Wenzel got a free kick in the 76th minute. Ämmer Sportfreaks's Hardy Oester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Ämmer Sportfreaks from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Stephan Ziegerer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Ämmer Sportfreaks's goalkeeper Hardy Oester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Stephan Ziegerer's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stephan Ziegerer helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ämmer Sportfreaks getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Stephan Ziegerer hit a great ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
