Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. APPLE KIELCE 1985's Aureliusz Frankowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Victor Haacker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Victor Haacker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, APPLE KIELCE 1985's Artur Jenkot got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
